When can you have true authority?

Jesus spoke with authority. What does it mean? How can we speak with authority? What does authority need?

AUTHORITY REQUIRES CLARITY 

To speak with authority, we need to have clarity. We should know what we are talking about or who we are talking about. Jesus had perfect clarity about God's love for man. Why did He have such perfect clarity? Not because He was also fully God, but because, as a human, He remained humble till the end to fulfil God's will.

AUTHORITY REQUIRES BELIEF

The authority that Jesus demonstrated was not His, but of the Father. The source of His confidence depended on His whole-hearted love for the Father. Jesus was sure about God's love. He never doubted it one bit. 

LOVE POWERS TRUTHFUL AUTHORITY 

When we wholeheartedly love God, we will speak with authority. Jesus spoke the Truth in love. Truth fears nothing. Truth is authoritative. The Truth is full of wisdom, humility, and lowliness of heart. 

Love God, and the Holy Spirit, the author of love, belief, and clarity, will spur you on to speak like Jesus!
