Pray For Your Church
Jesus paid it all. Yet, even today preachers abuse the word of God to suit their manipulative narratives.
We have died with Christ, and He has set us free from the spiritual powers of this world (Colossians 2:20-23). Paul warned the Colossians church about those who create human rules and keep pushing them. Some preachers still tell believers to wear white pants, remove their moustache, etc. Some rules that sound good, like spending 5-6 hours every day praying in church (travel) are not only impractical but ritualistic and burdensome. It will never change a person's character, especially when forced.
Praying needs to be backed by an internal culture of doing good. Good that prepares our children for tomorrow and builds a strong foundation for new believers.
Initiate programs and practices that bear fruit for the glory of God.
Appoint elders who can take responsibility for different groups of believers.
Create a follow-up system that connects old believers with new ones and keeps the conversation flowing.
Some preachers want all the attention only for themselves. They will neither feed the flock spiritual food to equip them to be growing believers nor engage with new believers consistently.
The result? A scattered people.
Is it always a bad preacher's fault? No. God grieves when His flock do not sincerely seek Him and choose to please people rather than obey His word.
We are in the last days. There is not much time left. Growing in the faith requires following Jesus with the help of the Holy Spirit.
You are free, dear believer. Pray for preachers who've gone astray. Get real with God in prayer. Be an example. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
