I wish I had someone to guide me.

"I wish I had someone to guide me."

Common regret among youth growing up in church. The irony of ironies is that after receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, a supernatural personal event, we are still seeking outside help. The Helper of all helpers is in us! The giver of all counsel has made His dwelling place in us.

But most live like they are all stranded on some island far, far away beyond Shrek's far, far away.

The perfect God is with us, upon us, beside us, before us, under us, and in us. Yet, we look for help other than the One who created us.

Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot be ready for the coming of the Lord.

When we read the Bible, we often wonder how did believers not believe when they saw mighty works with their own eyes! The first person in the Godhead revealed His glory in times of need beyond human imagination. Then Jesus walked the earth and showed how to live. Now you and I have the presence of God through the indwelling of the Spirit. How is it that we are unable to live a victorious life with God in us? We are no different from our forefathers in reality.

God guided us miraculously.

Then He guided us in the flesh.

Now, He guides us through the Spirit.

God always wanted to be the King and Priest of our hearts. Israel rejected Him for Saul. Jesus exemplified a lifestyle to make us kings and priests. The Holy Spirit makes us Kings and Priests.

Do you know anyone who can provide the best counsel? No. Yet God has raised fallible men to godly positions to reveal His mysteries. The only way we can get godly counsel from man is when we expect from God. Then, He brings the right people into our lives through the Holy Spirit. You will not know who is right for you without putting God first.

When we truly love God and seek Him early, He will lead us to Pastors (in heart, not only in positions) after His own heart and greener pastures.

HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL?

  1. Pray and study the word of God.

  2. Love the fellowship of His saints.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 14:23

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
