How To Stay Poor In Spirit Every Day?

"Stay poor in spirit", easier said than done. It's not impossible when Christ is in us.

The more we love God, the richer we grow in His word; richer the Word in us, poorer in our own spirit we get.

Love, when applied, enables us to grow in the word. The more we apply the word of God, the richer we get in the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of God.

Deeper the understanding, we get emptied of ourselves and begin to fill with the natures of God. Our spirit becomes enslaved to the Spirit of God, exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit daily.

What to do to stay poor in spirit everyday?

Let the Word of God hammer your hard heart. Jeremiah compares God's word as a hammer. A hammer breaks hard objects. A broken heart and a contrite spirit the Lord will not despise.

Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? (Jeremiah 23:29)

He also compares The Word with fire. We read in Hebrews, the Lord is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). He purifies us off all our impure thoughts, and carnality.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. (Proverbs 25:29)

If we aren't broken down and built up by the Word of God, we will be broken down by the lies and deception of this world. We will end up losing control of our own lives. God's Word transforms our thinking and doing. Helps us to love everyone without bias.
