How to speak with authority and not like a scribe?

When you share the gospel with others, do you share like Jesus or like a scribe? what's the difference you may wonder. The difference is what separates the faith-full or Spirit-filled from the rest.

Who are scribes? They are record-keepers or people who have been employed to copy documents. There is a world of a difference between an employed preacher and the one that comes in Spirit and power.

Paul says, he did not come with excellency of speech but in Spirit and power. Peter acknowledges his nothingness after the pharisees and scribes wondered how he did all the miracles. Everyone wondered at Jesus, and everyone will wonder at you dear brother, sister when you speak in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Why speak with authority?

When we speak with authority, the word of God sanctifies the hearer, setting them free from evil spirits. Jesus delivered the demonic possessed by the word of God.

The centurion, recognised by Jesus as one who had great faith, well understood the authority Jesus had as King of kings and Lord of lords. The centurion himself was a man of great authority being a leader of a 100 Roman soldiers.

He recognised that Jesus wasn’t an ordinary man with earthly powers. But, an ordinary man with supernatural power. He knew that when Jesus would speak, evil supernatural enemies would flee.

How well do you recognise the power in the word of God? The moment we realise the power in the word of God, the only way to deliver it is with authority. The word of God draws the power of God when we believe and speak it out.

Now is the time to dig deeper into the word of God, and dive into the wellspring of life, the Holy Spirit. Jesus is coming soon. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen!
