Don’t Get Emotionally Entangled

A youth testified recently that he tried to come early, as the Pastor requested the church, but became 10 minutes late. He apologised for getting late and hoped God would forgive him. He was almost in tears because he could not obey Pastor's request. He got late because he had to attend to his seriously sick father and make sure his father had everything till he returned from church.

This testimony sounds good but is emotional, not practical or biblical.

God does not want us to neglect our loved ones who are in need. Timings aren't the most important thing. Building spiritual character is! Obeying God's word is greater than anyone else's. Scripture needs to have final authority over the church (1 Corinthians 4:6).

This is just one example of how believers come under religious bondage. Religious mindsets are deeply seated in self-condemnation and shame. It cripples our relationship with God and turns us into men-pleasers and not God-pleasers.

On the other hand, some children and teachers don't attend church on holidays because they want to sleep. They are exhausted after all the work. So one day they get, they want to sleep.

One is emotional, and the other is only promotional. Both are religious believers.

These hypocrisies will continue to persist in the church if the leaders do not get involved sincerely with the church. Foolishness persists generation after generation because believers who often blame everyone else do not walk in the truth themselves.

Loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength is the answer to true freedom. Practical Christianity is not merely emotional or talk. It's power! When we don't believe God's word is power, we depend on people. It's not the Pastor's fault when a believer fails to understand.

Grow in the knowledge of the One who helps us grow, not the one who plants or waters (1 Corinthians 3:1-7).

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
