Do You Remember God Daily?
Remember God before you grow old or troubles come, said King Solomon. But the sinful man thinks he'll pursue God when he is old. That Youth is for having fun (worldly). “We'll seek God after we retire and have the time.”
What does it mean to REMEMBER God?
Remembering is an activity of the spirit. The mind and the heart remember people and situations based on the depth of engagement with people or situations. Memories that get stored in our minds and hearts have the power to guide us in good or bad ways.
Our fears and worries have a past. The new life in Christ helps us to put our past in perspective. Earlier, the negative past would scare us. In Christ, we learn to overcome and move on trusting in the promises of God.
Remembering God is not a mere flashback. It is a lifestyle;
Intimate walk with God (Psalms 119:105).
Meditating on His Word daily (Psalms 1:2)
Having the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5-8)
Being guided by the Holy Spirit (John 14:26/15:26)
Each of the above focuses on building our culture or foundation on God's word. When we grow in Christ, we receive the grace to endure trials. The word of God becomes our sure foundation to think and feel correctly.
Even during old age, the word of God becomes our refuge and strength. The earthly look forward to fleshly and temporary experiences when they are old. The godly become stronger and increasingly excited to meet the Lord as they grow in hope.
Love God with your mind, heart, soul and strength, and you will always remember God daily. He alone will be your joy and peace.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
