Addiction

One addiction greatly pleases God and saints. The addiction to your calling as believers rescued from a terrible darkness into the marvellous light. According to the grace given to you, are you addicted to God’s calling in your life?

The house of Stephen was addicted to the calling of God in their lives. Paul testifies about the household of Stephen, refreshing the apostles and the saints. (1 Corinthians 16:15)

There are various instances of Paul testifying about encouraging fellow helpers and servants of God in the ministry. Do you see yourself encouraging the members in the body of Christ?

Many think they are not good enough to encourage others. The truth is, it is not about our goodness but about faith. When filled with the love of God, faith produces works that hearten everyone around. Be careful not to confuse pleasing people humanly with encouraging spiritually.

Godly addiction is the work of the Holy Spirit

The good works pleasing to God are the move of the Holy Spirit in our lives, not human effort.

All who serve the saints humanly end up frustrated spiritually. True addiction to the saints makes us stronger in faith, not weaker. There is a deep desire to grow in Christ and a hunger for a closer relationship.

What happens when a person is addicted to the things of the flesh? He develops a craving that drives him away from reality. Godly addiction brings us closer to God and opens our minds and hearts to apply the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of Christ to everyday life.

If your faith is not growing, you cannot be ready for the coming of the Lord. In these last days, devote your time to labour for everlasting life. Live by faith to die in the faith. When Jesus comes, you will fly. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
