Work Out Your Salvation
How to work out our salvation when God gives us the will and desire to do His good pleasure? (Philippians 2:12,13)
Often, we directly or indirectly take credit for the good that flows out of our lives through our words and thinking.
Scripture everywhere screams that there is no good in us. Jesus refused to call Himself good even though He was. He directed all that glory that came from His good works to God.
Despite knowing this truth, we still grapple with giving glory to God for His goodness in our lives.
WHERE IS THE PROBLEM?
Paul reminds us to work out our salvation with FEAR and TREMBLING. Then God will work His will and birth the desire and strength in us to do His good pleasure.
WHAT IS THIS FEAR AND TREMBLING?
It is acknowledging the greatness and might of God in our DAILY lives. God is holy, and the truth is, it's not possible to stand before His holiness in this flesh suit. But, through Jesus, we gain access by faith.
Isaiah discovered his filthiness in the holy presence of God.
John fell flat before the glorious Jesus.
When they acknowledged His purity and power, God did great things in and through them.
Kings and Priests in the OT first humbled themselves before God did any work in and through them.
HOW TO GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO GOD ALL THE TIME?
Grow in the knowledge of God's awesome love and power.
Stay humble by going into prayer for all your needs.
Pursue the high, heavenly, and holy calling daily by faith rather than filling your heart with temporary pleasures.
What stops us from telling about Jesus to others freely?
Our hearts charged with the cares, riches and pleasures of this world.
Without submitting to Jesus daily, we cannot resist the devil's attack against us through the pride of life and fleshly lusts.
When you sit to pray, desire to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Your faith will get refreshed, and you will desire God's glory all the time.
