Why is happiness important in this life?

Happiness is a state of being. It isn’t something you can earn or buy. Thank God for that otherwise it would not be accessible to the increasing poor across the world.

How does happiness help us?

Overcome all kinds of worries

“Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: But a good word maketh it glad.”

Proverbs 12:25

The burden of worries makes us feel down and out; we end up literally stooping when our thoughts overwhelm us. But when someone gives us sound counsel and helps us think correctly, we are glad. The Spirit of God refreshes us when we study the word of God as believers.

Sound heart overcomes jealousy

“A sound heart is the life of the flesh: But envy the rottenness of the bones.”

Proverbs‬ ‭14:30‬ ‭

A wise heart not only keeps the inner man happy but also energises the body. When we walk in godly doctrine and teachings, we overcome every evil nature that may try to overcome us.

A joyful heart presents good character

“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.”

Proverbs‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭

When we are happy inside, we present a pleasant, encouraging personality. The Holy Spirit is the anointing of love and joy, give room and live fruitfully.

A happy heart brings healing

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: But a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

Proverbs‬ ‭17:22‬ ‭

The joy of the Lord is our strength. When we build ourselves in the word of God, we grow in happiness and walk in the fullness of His joy. We remain healthy mentally and emotionally.

No one can ever be happy hosting bitterness and unforgiving natures in their heart. No matter how eloquent they are about their happiness outwardly. It’s a lie. They are a disaster waiting to happen.

Happiness only comes from the word of God (Psalms 144:15). The world is created in truth. Anything that goes against the truth of the word of God will fail.

Put on Christ, the joy of God. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and receive the joy of God’s presence. Stay happy in Jesus, the bridegroom awaits. Maranatha, praise God and amen!
