When you forgive, forgive with all your heart
Forgive with all your heart because God sees all. Have you forgiven everyone in your life?
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus taught about forgiveness (Matthew 6:14,15). If we do not forgive, we will not be forgiven. There is no by-passing God’s word. We are not called to host bitterness, only love, God’s love.
Peter learnt from Jesus that he had to keep forgiving, no matter what!
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. (Matthew 18:21,22)
Our greatest opportunity to forgive and receive forgiveness is through brokenness, in prayer.
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. (Mark 11:25)
How to forgive? From the heart.
So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses (Matthew 18:35).
A prerequisite to forgive with all your heart
Every unclean nature in us must be overcome and removed from inside of us if we really want to forgive.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:31).
Why is it necessary to forgive as soon as possible? (2 Corinthians 2:7) so the person who needs forgiveness does not end up being swallowed by sorrow. Isn't it amazing how God thinks about every single human being? What a privilege for us to receive a love that powers forgiveness.
No servant of God or believer will ever enter heaven if they don’t exercise this truth.
May God help us forgive everyone in our lives as Christ forgave us. Maranatha, praise God and amen!
