What’s The Point Of Strength From Christ?
Why do you need strength from God? To do what? Philippians 4:13 is a famous verse, but what does it mean?
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
What 'all things'? Why do I need Christ? What is this strength for?
If you don't love God with all your mind, heart, soul, and strength, is there a point to anything on earth? If we don't love God, how will we love and serve our brothers and sisters in Christ? If life on earth is about temporal things, why do we need Christ to strengthen us?
What did Christ say? Love others as I have loved you (John 15:12).
The most important reason we need God's strength is to LOVE. Without love, we don't exist. Many love their ministries more than the flock they need to oversee. Jesus reminded Peter thrice to feed the flock if he loved Him.
FORGIVENESS is an essential aspect of love. Without forgiveness as an active character in us, we cannot receive forgiveness (Mark 11:25).
A life of separation and continued sanctification is essential for our walk with God. Without HOLINESS, no man can see God (Hebrews 12:14). We need strength to remain in the holiness of Jesus that keeps us holy.
Without FAITH, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). We need strength from Christ, who alone is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:1,2).
PRAISING God, DOING GOOD, and SHARING with those in need are all things we need strength for (Hebrews 13:15,16). Christ alone can help us with these and more.
Dear believers, we do not have the strength to do any good without Jesus. In Christ alone is our strength. Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
