What Is The Source Of Happiness? (2/2)
Are You Full Of Happiness?
In the previous post, we saw the first three points as to where a believer could derive happiness or what is the source of happiness for him? Based on that, we learnt that he gets his happiness from:
- The Presence of God
- Through the Word of God
- Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit
Moving on.. let’s continue into the second part on the same topic - Source of happiness.
Faith is a source of happiness
Faith helps a believer to grow in the Lord. How does Faith grow? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17. The more we hear the Word of God, the more our faith increases. The more, our desire to grow in faith increases as well. We are saved by grace through faith. It is a gift of God. Ephesians 2:8.
One of the fruit of the Spirit is also Faith. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Anyone who comes to receive from God should believe that the Lord is present and ever ready to hear their prayers and answer them. However, for believers it is imperative that they continue to grow in faith. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Romans 15:13.
Vision
Job had a clear vision about God. For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Job 19:25-26. That was why even in the midst of great affliction, when he had to lose everything dear to him, Job never gave up on God. He pressed on in the vision he had regarding God.
Therefore, only when we have a clear understanding/a clear vision about God, can we seek the Lord, His strength and His face continually. 1 Chronicles 16:11. What happens where there is no vision? Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18.
Love produces happiness
By loving and serving others, we get happiness in return. Philemon, who was a fellow labourer with St. Paul refreshed and cheered the hearts of the people of God. St. Paul was very happy with him. See what he says — For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. Philemon 1:7
In the Old Testament period, Abraham refreshed the heart of God and the two angels who came to visit him and his wife. Both of them gave their guests a loving and warm reception. Abraham and his family were blessed by God. So Love helps a believer to receive happiness.
Truth
When believers walk in truth, there is no greater joy than that. I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 2 John 1:4. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. John 14:6. And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin]. John 8:32. May the Lord help us!
Be blessed! 💕
