Three Effects Of Jealousy
Jealousy in a person reveals insecurity. It is an evil spirit that eats up every good thing you've received in Christ.
Saul was jealous of David's popularity. He attempted to kill him multiple times.
Jacob's sons were jealous of Joseph. They dropped him in a pit to die and then sold him off to the Egyptians. Though they did evil against Joseph, he never went against them.
The Jews were bent on killing Jesus and, later, the apostles. They were proud and full of lies.
There are many examples of jealousy (envy) in scripture.
THREE EFFECTS OF JEALOUSY IN A BELIEVER?
Jealousy erodes our doctrinal walk. Bones signify doctrine (Proverbs 14:30). When doctrinal standards drop, we accept a diluted spiritual walk. Doctrines keep us deeply rooted and grounded in Christ.
It gives room for confusion and evil works (James 3:16). Jealousy clouds the mind with many confusions, and the heart gets provoked to do evil actions.
Lies and prideful natures follow those with jealousy and bitterness in their hearts (James 3:14). Jealousy creates a need to lie to get what we want. It is a state of pride.
Jealousy in our hearts grieves the Holy Spirit. When we give room for the Holy Spirit, He will give us the strength to reject evil natures.
Guard your heart. Meditate on God's word and His promises. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
