The Merciful Receive Mercy
You do good to yourself when you are merciful to others.
(Proverbs 11:17) The merciful man doeth good to his soul: But he that is cruel troubleth his flesh.
Mercy is the character of God (Luke 6:36). Satan is the cruel one. When we show mercy, we reveal God's character. As children of God, we are full of mercy because God showed great mercy on us.
The steward showed mercy on his servant owing money. But the servant who received mercy sent his servant to jail. Hearing this, the steward sent his servant to jail. When we don't show mercy, we too, do not receive mercy. Cruel merciless natures lead people into hell.
Jesus said, blessed are those who show mercy - they will obtain mercy (Matthew 5:7).
David remained under God's mercy and love because he showed mercy on his detractors and enemies. Saul attempted to kill David many times, but David showed mercy even though he had many chances to kill Saul.
God showed us what true mercy looks like by the blood of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Mercy reveals God's character. When we reveal God's character, we become witnesses of His goodness and mercy.
Dear believer, be a witness of God's mercy for the glory of God. Be merciful at home, church, work and wherever you go offline and online.
God still provides mercies when we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:12). Show mercy to everyone, especially with the fellowship God has joined you with.
Every time we show mercy, we receive inner healing and good mental health. Our soul is the seat of emotions, desires, choices, character, and affection. Strengthen your spiritual core. Feed it with the living word and water to shine as the light of the world.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
