Open The Door

As Christians, we journey through many doors. There are some doors we mustn't open and others we need to open.

What must you NOT open the door to?

SIN

Sin lies at the door (Genesis 4:6,7). Offering acceptable sacrifices keeps the doors of sin closed. Do well to stay away from sin.

What is sin? (21 John 3:4) (1 John 5:17) (Deut 6:21) (Romans 1:17) (James 4:17) (Proverbs 21:4) (1 Samuel 12:23) (1 John 2:11, 3:15, 4:20). (Hebrews 12:14,15). Bitterness causes three things: lack of grace, becoming troubled and defiling others.

WORLDLINESS

(2 Kings 5:1,9) (2 Kings 5:5) Elisha did not open the door of his heart for the wealth Naaman bought. Gold and silver show worldliness (1 Corinthians 7:31). (1 John 2:15-17) (Romans 12:2) Renew your mind. (Philippians 3:20)

LOVE OF MONEY > DEATH

(Acts 5:9) Ananias and Sapphira. Lying and tempting the Spirit of God leads to death. Don't love money or be covetous. (1 Timothy 6:6-10).

What must you open the door to?

APOSTOLIC DOCTRINES AND TEACHINGS

(Acts 12:13,14) Open the door of your heart to apostolic doctrines and teachings. (Acts 2:42-47) (1 John 1:3) Gather together per apostolic teachings.

JUDGE YOURSELF

(James 5:9) (John 16:7,8) Holy Spirit is given to reprove us of sin. (Matthew 7:1-5) Judge yourself.

REPENT

(Revelation 3:20,21) Laodecia church was neither hot nor cold. Jesus was outside the door because they were not in Christ. Be overcomers.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen
