Preach the truth, don't try to convince

The natural or carnal mind that does not understand asks this question, was Jesus unconvincing? Why could He not convince people with His preaching?

It's not our eloquence, passion or perfection in message delivery which is critical. These are good to have but not the reason why someone gets saved. Those who hear must desire the truth.

But many love darkness rather than light (John 3:19).

Judas, the disciple, loved money even after walking with Jesus literally. He also was blessed to minister as Jesus gave the disciples the power to heal and deliver.

Simon, the sorcerer, got saved but felt he could somehow buy the power of God. He attributed more power to money because he loved money more than God.

Demas, an apostle, loved the evil world when the new testament ministry was at its peak.

When Jesus preached and fed free food, great crowds followed Him. We learn many loved the free food rather than the spiritual food of God's word. After a point, many left Jesus because they believed living a godly life was too hard. They did not understand Jesus because their hearts loved convenience and comfort.

Preach with conviction, don't try to convince.

Believers have supernatural encounters, but not all continue in the faith. Yet, many love God, desire Him and walk humbly in obedience without having gone to heaven or hell, etc.

Paul preached the gospel just like Peter. They preached Christ was crucified and resurrected. They spoke about getting victory over sin, sickness and fear of death. Both did not preach with excellency of speech but shared the heart of God as the Spirit gave utterance.

What do you want, believer? If you don't desire godliness, you are faking a Christian lifestyle. Desire to do God's will and let His power guide you into everlasting life. Preach the word with conviction, and let the Holy Spirit convict your listener's hearts. You love God and rejoice, for Jesus is coming soon. Praise God, and Amen.
