I Found Five Reasons Why Spiritual Growth Gets Blocked
"Why don't I feel free?" asked a child.
Several reasons in the Word of God help us understand this lack of spiritual freedom.
Consider these five hindrances to spiritual freedom.
Simon desired power rather than the freedom of the Holy Spirit. He thought he could purchase God's power. Likewise, many are saved but are influenced by their old nature of the love of money.
The eunuch went rejoicing because he understood the word of God. The word needs to take root. Only a good ground can receive the precious seed. Without a genuine hunger and thirst for God's word, we will never experience freedom.
Jesus is the truth who sets us free. Walking in truth is of utmost importance to our spiritual freedom. Many do not consider Jesus as a spiritual standard and remain bound in ritualistic living.
The Holy Spirit is a Spirit of liberty. We must be filled with the Holy Spirit and let God cultivate His character in us. The Spirit of God keeps us in the truth and action of God's word daily.
Holiness is critical for us to live freely. A constant renewal from what we consume daily and a lifestyle dedicated to knowing God will help us enjoy the freedom of heaven on earth. His sanctifying power renews us from worldliness, fleshly natures, and Satan's lies.
The Christian walk is based on God's effort, and not ours. He is able and faithful. Stay in God's word and Spirit. You will find yourself living in mental and emotional freedom daily.
