How to grow in patience daily?
To grow in patience daily, our hearts need to be founded in Love. Then only when you need patience, you will find yourself patient.
What does it take to grow in patience daily?
Here are three tips to grow in patience everyday.
Cultivate and nourish your heart
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (Luke 8:15)
Jesus is the believers way of life. It's a new way that completely changes our lifestyle. It's not just an intellectual exercise. We receive a new heart and a renewed spirit from the Lord. We need to be more than hearers of the word, we need to be doers. Everyone who loves Jesus, lives in obedience to God's word daily. When we obey the word of God, God blesses us with the patience to live for it too. When we lean on Jesus, He ensures we finish what He started by faith in our lives.
Suffer for the Lord
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; (Romans 5:3)
Jesus suffered in every way. Even His prayer life was one of great striving (Hebrews 5:7). We too need to live a godly life, and there is none without persecution and suffering.
Serve in edification (Romans 15:1-5)
We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: (Romans 15:1-5)
When we seek to please others by edifying others in Christ we grow in patience. Seeking to edify requires dedication and diligence in prayers and bible meditation.
When we grow in love, we grow in patience. A mother patiently raises a child. A refiner patiently refines gold, till he sees his face. When we love the lord we will keep our heart, be willing to suffer for him and serve others without expectation.
A patient heart expects from God alone. The power of the Holy Spirit drives us to greater things in Christ. A patient heart eagerly awaits the coming of Jesus everyday. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen!
