How To Come Under God’s Wings? Part-2

I can boldly say — beneath the mighty wings of God, there is a place of care and refuge made specially for you. As for me I can confidently say, Yes, I have found safety underneath His wings ❤️ The Lord has been my shelter and song!! There is no peace or safety in this world, nor can it give peace or safety to anyone. The Lord God is giving an open call to everyone who desires to take refuge in Him. I would like to share with you the second part of how we can come under God’s wings!:

The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. Ruth‬ ‭2:12‬

Come back to Bethlehem

Bethlehem refers to the house of Bread, and also presence of God. Naomi and her husband had left Bethlehem-Judah (because of famine) and gone to live in the land of Moab. However, they couldn’t live happily ever after in Moab because within a span of ten years, Naomi lost her husband and two sons. She was left behind with her daughter-in-laws, Ruth and Orpah! Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread. Ruth‬ ‭1:6‬.

Moab refers to the world. Until Naomi decided to return back to Bethlehem, her original place, she was left alone to seek nourishment and safety for herself and her sons wives’. To come under God’s wings, we must come back to Bethlehem.

Go to the field of Boaz!

Boaz, who later became the husband of Ruth is a shadow of Jesus, was Elimelech’s relative. He was a rich and influential man in Bethlehem-Judah! He owned huge fields and many worked in his field for a living. After Naomi came back to Bethlehem, Ruth offered to work in the field and gather the grain left behind by the workers.

And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging unto Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech. Ruth‬ ‭2:3‬. Here the field of Boaz spiritually refers to the church of the firstborn. Hebrew 12:23. Every Spirit baptised child of God is a firstborn. In order to come under God’s wings and care, a child of God must go the field of Boaz.

Kept fast by the maidens

Ruth goes to work in Boaz’s field and there were a number of maidens working there. So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother in law. Ruth‬ ‭2:23‬. ‘Kept fast by the maidens’ means keeping oneself in the fellowship of the saints. At first, Boaz did not know, who Ruth was. Later on after enquiry, he comes to know about her and was pleased to let her work in his field.

After the day of Pentecost, the first century church kept fellowship daily because of which, they abounded in God’s love. The Lord desires the same for us as well. Acts 2:42-46.

Being at the feet of Boaz

Being at the feet of Boaz refers to being at the feet of Jesus. Gradually, as Ruth began working in Boaz’s field and kept by with all what he asked her to do; not only was Boaz getting to know her more deeply but Ruth in turn was also very grateful for the love and compassion shown to her by him. Ruth 3:4. And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down. Ruth‬ ‭3:7‬

When we make Jesus our own and grow in our relationship with Him, we begin to get closer and closer to Him. That’s what happened with Ruth. She knew, this man could take care of her for the rest of her and so she committed herself to him. Of the sisters Mary and Martha, Mary chose the good part of sitting at the feet of Jesus and listening to Him. May the Lord help us as well!

Be blessed! 💕
