How To Come Under God’s Wings? Part-1

You know, Ruth - Naomi’s daughter-in-law, was someone who came to seek refuge under God’s wings. Ruth is a beautiful and exemplary character of a woman who loved her family and followed God wholeheartedly. She was as a Moabite woman and would have never known the God of Israel. However, Ruth got an opportunity to not only marry a man from Bethlehem, but also know and follow the God of Israel.

The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust. Ruth‬ ‭2:12‬

So..! Let’s take a look at how to come under God’s Wings!

Must Become Little

😄 sure thing! How else can a chicken come under mama hen’s wings if it isn’t little?! Nevertheless, [jokes apart]; to come under God’s Almighty wings, a child of God must become little. Looking towards Jerusalem and her people Jesus says, O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Matthew‬ ‭23:37‬.

Sadly, in today’s time and generation, seeking refuge under God’s wings has become a thing of the past. Man is getting proud and arrogant; of himself and his achievements. Slowly yet steadily, he is heading forward to hell fire which God has reserved only for the devil and his army.

You know, before God chose Saul to become the first king of Israel, God saw that Saul was a very humble man. He thought very little of himself and his family. And that was the reason why God exalted him to become the King, rather, the first king of Israel!

And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the Lord anointed thee king over Israel? And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou so to me? 1 Samuel‬ ‭9:21‬,1 Samuel‬ ‭15:17‬

May the Lord help us to become little or else, humble ourselves so that we can find shelter under God’s wings!
