How To Choose The Right Master For Life?
The love of money is a religion. It has its own belief system which is focused on increasing wealth with the objective of position, power, and promotion in the world.
The systems of the world are designed to help us grow in the world. School, college, workplace, and even worldly families prepare a child to hope in this world. The underlying motivations for every human being is to make money to ensure you have enough for now and future.
“Making enough” money is a tricky affair. It requires hard work and dedication, a commitment where we end up labouring for perishing things. Also, it’s not fair because not every hardworking person “makes it” in this life. The evidence is before us; the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer.
Even believer children, born again, raised in a spiritual family often take years to begin understanding what they have in Christ. This happens because of the continuous conflict or warfare between worldly understanding and godly understanding in their hearts and minds.
When we lack understanding we end up sinning. When we walk in understanding by the leading of the Holy Spirit and the word of truth, we will keep winning.
Choose the right master for life
Jesus says, choose either money or God as your Master (Matthew 6:33).
Elijah said to Israel, choose Baal or God.
John the Baptist told the Pharisees to repent and choose God.
Peter preached repentance, a turning away from sin and world to Christ.
Every religion has turned into a monetised affair, focused on increasing followers. Today, every influencer is monetising their followers too.
What will it take for us to choose the right Master? Is this option only for believers? Not really. We see the eunuch, Cornelius, and other non-believers who sought God and found Christ. Many others received healing, but only a few accepted Christ.
At the end, we need to make the right choices. It starts with listening to our conscience over a period of time. Sadly, in the last days the conscience is seared for a lot because of consistently choosing wrong ways.
For believers, the choice is crystal clear - God or money. Money requires hard work and it focuses all the attention on the efforts of sinful man. While we labour for God, HE fights the battle for us as we pray, meditate and stay obedient in His guidance.
The choice is before us everyday. God is calling us to labour for eternal life (John 6:27). Jesus is coming soon. Praise God and Amen!
