How To Believe All Things?

Love believes all things, what does that mean? Believing all things doesn't mean we accept anything anyone says or does. Believing all things requires a solid foundation that is found only in the word of God.

We are beings of belief and purpose. Which means there is a specific truth and a way to live this life out. Unsaved man knows what is good and what is bad to some extent; till God opens our eyes to what is really good or bad according to Him.

The young religious man thought he was good enough for eternal life. When he was told by Jesus to leave all and follow Him, he rejected Jesus. Everything we gain in this world will be tested, be it knowledge, or riches. When we go through fire, only what is of God will remain.

What does it mean to believe all things?

Paul shares his concern about the simplicity of the believers in Corinth (2 Corinthians 11:1-4). False teachers had risen and they were too naive to welcome them to preach among them. This would lead them to believe in an incorrect Jesus. We see this happening today in the world around us.

You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed. (2 Corinthians 11:4)

Love that believes all things can only conform to things that are in line with God who is love. No more the former understanding of love that lacks boundaries or can be easily influenced by changing culture. Love focuses on the good is something we often hear. Which good? The "good" what the world thinks is good or what the word of God teaches us is good?

Believe all things like a sheep that hears only the Shepherd; like the child who listens to her parent.

The apostolic doctrine and teaching prepares us for the coming of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Let us remain in the love of God, in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
