How simple did God create man?

God created man simple,
Man decided to do his own will.

Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. (Ecclesiastes 7:29)

Sin separated man from God,
Yet God decided to foot his bill (by the blood of Jesus).

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:2)

What does it mean to be simple?

Most people tend to equate simplicity with foolishness. Yet, the simplicity of God is foolishness for the natural man.

Prayer is a good example when we think about simplicity. Theoretically, prayer seems like an easy thing to do. but, when we actually sit to pray, we realise it isn't as easy as we thought it to be. The moment we sit to pray, close our eyes to meditate on God's words or remember His goodness, we are distracted by various related and non-related thoughts. These thoughts often make us linger in prayer, taking us away from the purpose of that particular prayer.

Prayer does not run on feelings or our will. It runs on believing on the word of God wholeheartedly. We tend to give up too soon in our prayer life because we feel God isn’t listening or He doesn’t think we are worth listening to or whatever lies the devil tries to twist us with. It's almost impossible to pray for a decent time when you do not feel like it or feel defeated spiritually.

The truth is that He is always listening to us but cannot do anything because of our unbelief. This unbelief too is a result of straying away from God's word. Let's stay focused on what God desires, stay humble, yet hungry for His love.

Sin in the world is increasing, let not our love grow cold. What God promises He fulfills. Jesus is coming soon, praise God and amen.
