Get your strength from God to live victoriously

“I’ve got the power” is an early 90’s hit song that rose to the top of the charts because of its unique composition. From a messaging standpoint, like most pop songs are, it was a strategy to empower young music lovers to believe in themselves. To make them believe they had the power to do whatever they want.

Man was created lower than angels. He is weak and vulnerable. He was given power and dominion by God over the earth and its creatures. But, lost it all due to disobedience that led to sin.

Sinful man loves power. To control. To overcome opposition. Fulfil selfish desires and greed.

Man gets his strength from God alone, not his own, nor anyone else

The godly man receives his strength from God. We are strong in the power of God’s might (Ephesians 6:10). Man cannot fight spiritual wicked powers with his might because he was created lower, out of the dust of this earth.

God has given us His power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). As spirit filled Christian’s, do you experience the power daily? It is the power of God that brought our spirit man to life.

When Paul desired strength to overcome a certain problem he had; God assured him of His grace. God’s grace is sufficient for us.

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

To stay alive, we need to walk in God’s strength or power. If we don’t then we’ll easily be drawn to inferior worldly and wicked powers. Be stirred by God’s word. Submit to the power of God to work in and through you. Maranatha, praise God and amen!
