Faith Or Freak
Living by faith is impossible without understanding that your faith will often be incorrectly perceived. Be it family, friends, or church.
Three ways faith may be incorrectly perceived by others are;
FAITH WILL FEEL RISKY
Sara thought it was risky to wait longer and sent Abraham to Hagar. How many times we've failed in waiting for God's time and moved on to get something? Many churches hardly wait on the Lord in prayer to buy land because they have the money.
FAITH WILL FEEL UNREASONABLE
Abraham put his son on the sacrificial altar, only for God to stop him at the right moment. Our human thinking will find it unreasonable for God to have taken Abraham through all that trouble! Often, when believers trust in God for healing, others find it unreasonable when there's so much 'advancement in medicine'.
FAITH WILL SEEM ARROGANT
The Jews and priests hated Jesus' claim of being God. Every time Jesus broke useless ritualistic traditions, the Pharisees thought He was arrogant. Often, in our walk with God, our decisions and response of faith may be perceived as arrogant. Don't lose heart. What God started, He will finish.
There is bound to be some friction or division in every family and church concerning the faith as we pursue Christ fervently to live overcoming lives. Faith life gets misinterpreted, and the journey will feel harder. But that test of faith will only make you a pillar of strength and comfort for others in the future.
Hold on, be strong! God is gracious. Let your faith grow brighter.
Maranatha, praise God and amen.
