Don’t Try To Prove Yourself To Anyone

Why do people want to be appreciated?

What is Appreciation? It means to give someone good feedback.

WHY DO PEOPLE APPRECIATE OTHERS?

It could be

  • recognition of good work

  • an opinion

  • to express thanks

WHY DO PEOPLE SEEK APPRECIATION?

There are several reasons, good and bad.

  1. It feels good to know you did something valuable

  2. confirmation is a motivator

  3. feedback helps improve the approach

  4. feels he's making a difference

  5. derives his worth based on his abilities

  6. satisfies the craving for validation

But some people crave appreciation. They want it so badly that they can't seem to move forward positively without someone else telling them or making them feel appreciated. This desire is dangerous because the person relies on another human being for validation or deriving their self-worth.

That's why many children want to prove themselves

A believer does not seek appreciation from anyone. They seek God and depends on Him alone for all things. They give their best, trusting in God to take care of the rest. Even when they give their best, they pray fervently to receive assurance and confidence that God is in control as long as I'm waiting in Him. God always confirms through His word and Spirit to all who seek Him.

Those who don't have God will always seek appreciation from others. They will always compare their lives with others and remain miserable inside. When we want something badly and don't get it, we bind ourselves spiritually. No one can bear this burdensome binding with their strength because it is an invisible spirit attack.

As children of God, baptized with the Holy Spirit, we receive freedom from such bindings through the anointing. The word of God puts us back on track after the burden is lifted. So study the word of God and pray fervently to overcome the cravings of appreciation that attack your soul and spirit.

We are in the last days. Only Jesus matters.

Maranatha, praise God, and amen.
