Do You Know Why Believers Praise God?

Do you praise God daily? Is it an intentional exercise focused on praising Him for who He is?

What’s the point of praising God?

Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

Psalms 147:1

Praising God is good. It is pleasant. It is comely.

We praise God because God is good. Only He is good. Only God deserves all the praise and glory.

God deserves praises because He alone is worthy. His mercy towards us is everlasting. Everything we receive from God is everlasting and good.

He created everything good (Genesis 1).

He does only good (Psalms 119:68).

His thoughts towards us are only good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Believers know God exists and do not need anyone else to prove to them. We have had our personal experiences which confirm with the word of God.

The world doesn't understand Him, so they don't praise God

The worldly are full of sin and do not understand the value in praising God.

People of this world are always praising themselves. Their achievements, positions, status, etc. Social media has exposed man’s craving for attention and praise. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. When man seeks praise it is sinful and undeserving. Man is constantly trying to prove to others he is good.

The self-praise and glory is pushing mankind over the brink. Suicide rates, depression, loneliness, etc. have all increased in the last few years. The world is not getting better because the heart of man is not good. The heart of man needs a transformation, possible only by the word of God. When man shows he is good, it is purely for selfish reasons, or self-praise. There is no love in the good man displays.

God who is good cared enough to send Jesus to die for mankind on the cross; so whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Such love alone can produce good that overcomes selfish, evil natures.

When we turn to Him wholeheartedly, He makes us good. Only God can prepare us for Jesus’ soon coming. Maranatha, praise God and Amen!
