Did You Know God Doesn't Sleep?
When we are weary and hopeless, we are tempted to believe that God is asleep or He is just not interested in us. God doesn’t sleep nor slumber. It's a sin to think that the God who gave His life for you does not care about you, as a believer.
When we know God as our Father, then we will know how to be His child. If our earthly father proves himself to be good in his limited capability, a loving child will always stay focused on what he or she thinks the father can do.
The Heavenly Father is not man to work in a limited way. When we as believers recognise God as Father, we know He keeps His promises. We have by grace, through faith experienced his ever-flowing love. We know His heart and revel in His desires and will for our lives.
Do you know why God doesn’t sleep?
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
1. God is busy protecting His children from evil.
God keeps us from evil.
But now the Lord my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent.
1 Kings 5:4
The devil is like a roaring lion waiting to devour (1 Peter 5:8). When we submit to God in humility, He protects us.
2. God sustains us so we can sleep in peace and rest.
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.
Psalms 3:5
What else does man need on this earth? He needs protection which brings peace and rest. When is it possible? When we abide in Him as believers, God's blessings manifest in our lives.
Are you sleeping in peace and rest, found in Jesus? Examine your heart and mind. Is Christ top priority for you daily? Until Christ isn't who we labour for daily then we'll always be worried and restless. Give your heart to God today. Maranatha, Praise God and Amen.
