Discipline and Faith
How to stay disciplined in the faith?
We understand discipline for bodily needs or achieving workplace targets. Sportspersons or high achievers push their limits to pursue their desires. When does one push their limits? When they dearly care for the reward.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD DISCIPLINE FOR A SPORTSPERSON?
He commits to dietary restrictions whether he likes them or not.
Schedules physical exercises and sticks to them.
Limits his relationships and social life to meaningful connections to keep his heart glad.
Keeps his mind spiritually motivated by positivism.
Do you care about your spirit man with greater commitment than you do for your body? As a believer, we need to learn to surrender.
Meditate on the Bible whether you feel like it or not
Schedule a time to pray and stick to the time whenever possible
Engage with a fellowship that aligns with your doctrines and consecration
Keep your mind spiritually motivated by the Word of God and refreshing of the Holy Spirit
Generally, we are lazy and don't care about most things. But when we do, how do we get going? Keep that in mind as you seek to restore your walk with Jesus. When we surrender He begins His work in us. Be guided for good and by God in all you say and do here till the end. Your life will be disciplined by the Holy Spirit over time.
What comes before surrender? Love that trusts God will help you surrender. The Holy Spirit not only helps us surrender, but He powers us in the love of God.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
