Be Guided By The Spirit Of Truth

Are you guided by the Spirit of truth? Or are you guided by your spirit?

There is only one Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit. Jesus sent the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to dwell with us and in us (John 15:26).

When social media and the internet are full of lies, we must remain in the truth. It's not possible without the Holy Spirit.

Everything God asks us to leave on earth is what the media teaches us to cleave to on earth. Be it relationships or things. We are bombarded daily by erroneous spirits that seek to influence us spiritually.

In God alone can we discern between truth and error (1 John 4:6).

WITNESS VS INFLUENCERS

The Spirit of truth helps us to be a witness in a world of influencers. The greatest influencer in our lives is Jesus. Or is it someone else? God sent Jesus as a counter to the culture of this world. You and I are a response to counter the culture of this world in Christ Jesus.

Paul's life before his conversion is one full of murder and deceit. Post-salvation, he became a beacon of love and truth.

How is your salvation glorifying Jesus?

Is the Spirit of Truth guiding you?

Many in the world seek the truth. But no one has the truth we've received (John 14:17).

Only the Spirit of Truth can guide us into all truth into eternity! (John 16:13).

WHEN IS IT HARD TO LIVE BY THE TRUTH?

When we,

  1. Choose lies to gain an advantage

  2. Choose hypocrisy over humility

  3. Still, enjoy the pleasures of specific sinful habits

  4. Enjoy the pleasures of the world over God's presence

  5. Do not take God at His Word

  6. Do not give room for the Holy Spirit in our hearts

  7. Reject God's knowledge over what we see, hear and feel

These are just a few practical observations and experiences that reveal our state when we avoid the truth. Nothing and no one can go against the truth.

Jesus is the truth we need to carry in our hearts. May God give us grace to be led by the Spirit of truth as we await His coming.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
