Are You A Godly Flock?
A godly flock is as important as a godly pastor. It's easy to nitpick on leaders. But what about the responsibility of the rest of the flock?
Before we learn how to shepherd a flock, we need to first know how to be a flock. Consider these four points, among many other instructions in the Bible.
How to be a godly flock?
Desire to learn and grow in doctrine and instruction (1 Timothy 4:16)
Be an encouragement to ministers. (1 Thessalonians 2:20)
Be an example, the spark that spreads His fire. (1 Thessalonians 1:6-8)
Overcome the deception of earthly riches. Keep building on and strengthening your foundation in Christ. (1 Timothy 6:17-19)
Jesus loves His flock. He is our Good Shepherd whose voice we recognize (John 10:14). He emphasized the need to care for the flock to Peter (John 21:15-17).
David fought lions and bears to protect the flock of sheep under his care. Jesus fights for us today. Jesus deserves better from our lives. It's the least we owe to Him and the loving saints He gives us.
