Anger is a fool’s device
Beware of the spirit of anger. Do not let it rest in your heart. Anger that finds rest in a person's heart is easily triggered. It can lead to terrible consequences, even murder.
Cain killed Abel in a fit of rage.
Saul threw a javelin at David in anger because of deep-seated pride and jealousy in his heart. Saul's anger never ceased, ending him to kill himself.
Moses smote the rock twice instead of speaking to the rock as God commanded. He was already quite irritated by Israel's shenanigans.
Only a fool gets angry quickly (Ecclesiastes 7:9). He that is soon angered deals foolishly. (Proverbs 14:17). There is an ethical anger intended to correct and heal. Another that hastens in sheer passion, which hurts or causes damage.
Do you get angry quickly? Are you irritated by everyone and everything sometimes?
Some believers are always angry or can't seem to get along with anyone. They find fault with everyone and become unable to keep the peace either at home or elsewhere.
How to control your anger?
It takes wisdom to control your anger (Proverbs 19:11). Jesus reminded his disciples that they did not know what spirit they had (Luke 9:55). Instead of resting in Jesus, the wisdom of God, the disciples got angered because of getting refused audience in Samaria.
We are the Temple of God. We belong to God. When we abide in Christ, God Himself abides in us (John 15:7). In His presence is fullness of joy (Psalms 16:11).
Praise and thanks, worship and adoration to God abound in His temple. Not quarrelling and chaos. How is your heart today? Give room for the Holy Spirit so you can rejoice and be glad in His goodness.
We are nearing the end. Let's learn to overcome anger and seek Christ-like humility (Ephesians 4:31). Maranatha, praise God, and amen.
