All Glory Be To God

NEVER give the glory due to God to another man. Only God deserves all the glory.

No one should glorify themselves in God's presence (1 Corinthians 1:30), and NO man should be glorified in God's presence.

Simon, the sorcerer, got saved and water baptized after he saw how God worked mightily through the apostles. He gave up his evil craft of sorcery to worship the living God. But he desperately desired the power of the Holy Spirit for his glory. (Acts 8:14-24)

How? He thought God's gift could be purchased with useless earthly money. Peter rebuked him sharply for it. Though Simon was delivered from a false lifestyle, deep inside, it was all about him wanting to do something.

Never seek to do God's work or any good work to be seen by men (Matthew 23:1-5). Simon enjoyed years of sorcery by pleasing man and drawing attention to himself. Though now saved, he got caught up in self-glory again over time.

Give God All The Glory

In contrast, Paul says the persecuted church glorified Christ in him (Galatians 1:23, 24) Why? The church had suffered the terrible persecution Paul had brought upon them before he got saved. Now, when the church saw that he was glorifying God and got persecuted for the sake of Christ, they glorified God and His radical work of transformation in Paul's life.

Dear brother and sister, let our lives be so poured out in prayer and praise to God that the world around us glorifies God when they see or hear us.

It is not the eloquence of the preacher that saves souls, nor the saint that heals the sick, but God in His great mercy and grace doing all the good work of convicting hearts and healing minds and bodies for the glory of God.

Soon, we'll all be gone. Our Jesus is coming to take us to be with Him forever. Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
