What Was Man’s State In The Garden Of Eden?
Adam was sinless, innocent, and free from worldly corruption. He lived in a purity we'd never experienced growing up.
The man was naked, but they were not ashamed (Genesis 2:25). The feeling of shame is an outcome of sin. We've grown up in a culture of "shame, shame". (In good and bad ways)
The man was covered by the glory of God, spiritually awake to God's presence. He discovered his nakedness only after the spiritual covering was lifted off. But the moment the glory lifted off, their life turned into utter shame.
What is this spiritual covering? It's the conscious presence of God or an open spiritual experience that kept them in a purity we've never experienced as unsaved. God's light kept them in sincere devotion to God.
Moses spent 40 days in God's presence, and his face shone. Israel could not look at his face at all.
The moment we get saved, we get covered by God's glorious presence. We do not see it literally but believe by faith. This state of belief keeps us in the knowledge and ways of God. In God's presence, there is the direction for life, joy, and pleasures forever (Psalms 16:11). Adam and Eve experienced all of it at a physical level too.
How did man DISCONNECT FROM GOD completely?
Adam hid his sin in his heart (Job 31:33). The sin of disobedience kept him from giving his heart to God or walking in love. Fear, guilt, and shame convinced him to go against God.
Believers who acknowledge God's presence will experience His glory in their lives and will choose to stay in the wisdom and understanding they've received in Christ.
Paul feared his flock would easily be beguiled like Eve (2 Corinthians 11:2-4). As a servant of the highest God, he desired to present his flock as a chaste virgin, innocent, free from corruption, spotless and blameless, perfect in Christ Jesus.
Don't hide sin in your heart. Pour your heart before Jesus every day. He will give you a new sinless heart, full of love for God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Hide His word in your heart.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
