3 Sound Reasons For The Need To Follow Doctrine
Do you not feel the need to follow doctrine? As New Testament believers, we need to walk like our forefathers did daily. Some talk about the context in which the early apostles served and have turned the need for fellowship a routine affair. Oh! What injustice to all who seek to love God.
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
Acts 2:42
We need to be patient and learn to wait in the Spirit. God sends His doctrine as dew to all those who wait on Him (Deuteronomy 32:2). God used Moses to deliver his word. Today, God gave us apostles and elders to learn from.
The impact of doctrinal teaching is evident in the lives of those who walk in it. We easily get scared about whom to trust or what if I'm being led into a cult, etc. Trust God because He speaks to His children. Paul's life was evident to Timothy, which made Paul a great mentor apostle to a budding one.
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
2 Timothy 3:10
3 Reasons We Need To Follow Doctrine
- God’s doctrine is food for the soul, it is the only good doctrine (Proverbs 4:2).
- Without God’s doctrines we cannot enter into the kingdom of God (2 John 1:9).
- When we study and live by the doctrines of the word of God, not only will we save ourselves but those who hear us too (1 Timothy 4:13,16).
Believe in these three words of God, and submit yourself to God. He will guide you miraculously.
Our time belongs to God. God desires we embrace His doctrines and stay faithful till the end. Maranatha, Praise God and amen.
