3 ways we get distracted from doing God's will

It takes an ungodly level of pride to go against God's will. How often do we discover our pride every time we need to make a decision? We feel proud of ourselves every time we do some good. Right there, we end up going against God. Our feeling good should not convert to pride. Instead, let it reflect in our praise and glory to God. Our greatest joy is in exhibiting the character of Christ. It's made possible by the grace of God.

The word of God reveals God's will, and so does the Spirit of God through prayer. Yet many times, we end up going against the will of God. How do we do that?

What other wills keep us from doing God's will?

  1. Self-will (Ephesians 2:3)
  2. Will of the nations (1 Peter 4:3)
  3. Will of Satan (John 8:44)

Know the three ways we get distracted from doing God's will

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Ephesians 2:3

Prior to knowing Jesus, we let the heart discover itself. We did whatever we felt and thought. Today, we guard the heart, redeeming the time, knowing the will of God. We transformed from being disobedient children of darkness to become obedient children of the light of Christ.

For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

1 Peter 4:3

We mingled and conformed to the world, and loved the world and the things of the world. In Christ, we are filled with the love of the Father. Seeking the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, daily. We live like strangers, passing by for the place God is preparing for His children.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

John 8:44

Hips don't lie, but our lips did while in darkness. Without hesitation, lies would flow out. Today, we love the truth. We cannot imagine going against the truth in God's word. Our delighting in the truth bears the fruit of freedom in the way we think, feel, speak and do.

The end days are here.
Desire God's will.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
