Why Feelings Can’t Be Trusted!
For some, Praying and Meditating the Word of God, doesn’t FEEL like they’ve done work 😐. It isn’t something they feel satisfied enough to excitedly say, “YES!!!”.
The unsaved man is a physical man. He is physically minded, not spiritually minded. What does it mean to be physically minded? He thinks only about his physical needs - food, clothing, shelter and reputation.
Often many Christians end up living for their earthly needs instead of seeking first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:24-33). Thereby, being physically minded, praying is like a side activity. Something that needs to be done religiously rather than depending on it.
That’s why as long as we are in this body, we need to receive the will and desire to do of His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). This good pleasure comes solely from God to us by faith.
So then, what can we do?
- Actively give up our self to God; in the spirit man.
- Submit to God.
- Surrender
- Shed tears and pray for ourselves and others.
In so doing, we will be strengthened and change from glory to glory.
If you put your trust on your feelings, you can never do God’s will; because feelings will always betray us. Don’t cry because you need your problem solved. Cry aloud and pray because He is your Father. Desire Jesus. Recognise Him as a need. Make Him your first love!
Jesus is coming to take away all those who completely surrender to Him.
“… with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13. May the Lord Help Us! ❤️
