Who Is An Old Believer?

Who is an OLD believer? Let's break it down in simple terms by using it as an abbreviation.

O IS FOR OBEDIENCE

An obedient lifestyle leads to an OVERCOMING life. Jesus displayed obedience that was a product of His love for the Father. Jesus overcame death because He stayed faithful till the end.

Jesus learnt obedience through suffering (Hebrews 5:7)

L IS FOR LEARNING

Learning leads to spiritual growth that bears fruit for God's glory. A humble believer is forever learning about God's love. The learning is practised daily and shared with others freely - the beauty of God's majesty and love.

Learning begins with the humility and lowliness of the heart of Jesus (Matthew 11:29).

D IS FOR DILIGENCE

Diligence leads to perfection that prepares us for the coming of the Lord (2 Peter 1:10,11). One of the most critical qualities every human requires is diligence. It is the ability to consistently devote our time and skills to God.

Love makes diligence possible.

Jesus remained unperturbed in His calling by staying faithful to what God desired - Day after day. He took on false accusations, lies, betrayals, mockings, hate, etc., gracefully.

Have you noticed how social media influences us to the extent that we never miss checking it daily? What's the reason? How is it happening? Satan exploits our vulnerabilities caused by sin to erode every iota of understanding of Christ in our lives.

Dear believer, let's be OLD in loving and living out the truth of Christ. God gave us the Spirit of Truth to influence and not exploit us. When we give room, He fulfils God's plan in and through us.

Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
