What do you need to ask in prayer?
What do you ask in prayer? Does man in general even know what to ask? What would man ask? Only what he can think of or imagine. What is a believers ask? Any believer would desire to be like Jesus.
What does the Bible talk about how Jesus was? (Isaiah 11:2)
“And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,
- the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
- spirit of counsel and might,
- the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;”
Ask in prayer
Jesus is wisdom (Proverbs 8). Wisdom is calling out, speaking excellent things; the opening of His lips shall be right things. For His mouth will speak truth. How do we listen to this wisdom? Bible study and meditation. Not ritualistically but diligently with a heart full of love for the Saviour. Life and its struggles harden our heart daily. Only the word of God can help us overcome each days evil (Matthew 6:33).
Where there is no counsel, people fall. In the multitude of counsel there is safety. There is no purpose without counsel (Proverbs 11:14). Who does counsel belong to? Jesus. “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.” (Proverbs 8:14). What is counsel for? To make us wise for our later years (Proverbs 19:20).
When it comes to applying for top universities or getting a top job, how much we labour!! But, this knowledge will perish, and the labour will be wasted eventually. If we do not have the knowledge of God, it is shameful (1 Corinthians 15:34). This is the reason people keep sinning, unable to walk in the fear of the Lord. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom.
Ask in prayer.
Ask sincerely, humbly.
Till we do not ask, we cannot receive.
Till we do not receive we cannot live the life God has called us to live.
When we do live Jesus out daily, we will meet Him in the air. Praise God and Amen!
