Watch Your Heart!
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23
Did you know — The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart❤️; It’s indeed quite a popular expression; but it isn’t just a mere statement.
Young children in love, go to the extent of even going against their parents wishes, when their desires need to be fulfilled. Their hearts are so desperate for each other that they are blinded to any amount of wisdom. At that point, they fail to understand that obedience is always better than sacrifice. 😊
As we all know, the heart ❤️is one of the vital organs in the human body and if a problem arises in the heart, it is dangerous. Unless and until the heart is repaired through surgery or operation, chances of survival for that person is very less.
In the Bible, right from the time sin entered the world through disobedience, man’s problems were heart ❤️ problems. Even when men began to multiply on earth, God saw that the wickedness of man was great — every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually [Genesis 6:5]
There was a couple named Ananias and Sapphira, who had decided to sell their possession and give away the money to the Apostles. After selling it, their hearts ♥️ were so deceived that they withheld a certain amount and gave only a portion to the apostles. Their end was miserable because they lied to the Holy Spirit and the Apostles.
Peter had a great desire to walk on water with Jesus. The Lord granted his desire and by faith Peter did walk a few steps on water. But suddenly when the wind and storm blew, instead of keeping his eyes fixed on Jesus, he looked at the situation and began drowning. We also do the same thing sometimes. The heart ♥️ of faith gets replaced with fear.
What prophet Jeremiah says about the heart is exactly right. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9. How then can this heart ❤️ be brought back to normal? Only by giving it into the hands of Him who made it.
WHAT LIES WITHIN THE HEART?❤️
For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7:21-23
St.Paul, when he was Saul, was a great persecutor of the children of God. Under his leading many believers in the first century, were martyred because they loved Jesus. Saul loved Jesus religiously. But after Jesus spoke to him in a vision, he gave his heart to Jesus and the rest is history. He loved and gave his life for His Saviour.
In the Scriptures, everyone of those who gave their hearts ♥️ to Christ, witnessed a major transformation in their lives. They were not the same. What does God do with this heart? He takes away the stony heart and replaces it with a new heart — a heart ♥️ of flesh [Ezekiel 36:26].
