Watch And Pray

The life of a Christian on this earth is of the night time life. Night refers to the various problems, trials, persecutions etc one has to face. It is a time of sorrow, hopelessness. During this time he/she needs to watch and pray to overcome those trials and afflictions.Mathew 26:41 says, Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. These words were spoken by Jesus Himself, during His time on the earth. In many portions of the New Testament we can see Jesus rising up early in the morning, to pray. He led by example and taught His disciples the need to watch and pray - to overcome temptations.Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭8:34‬ ‭- This is what the Lord desires from us.The word "Watch" has 3 meanings:

  • Guard
  • To look out for
  • To watch in the Night.

After the night is over comes the day. It is dark in the night. Not much can be done during that time. But when the day comes all sorrows and pain flee away. Day refers to the Coming of Jesus, a time of great happiness and celebration.

Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. Luke‬ ‭21:36‬ ‭

Be blessed!
