Vineyard Lessons (Part-2)
Hello friends! Happy Wednesday!
This post is a continuation of have you come into His vineyard? Let’s see what the master of the vineyard did after he made a hedge and gathered off the stones in it.
Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. Isaiah 5:1-2
3. He planted it with the choicest vine — the choicest vine mentioned here refers to you and me.
You removed a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it...Psalms 80:8-9
This was our state before being saved. The Lord brought us out of Eygpt (sinful world) and grafted us among His people - His vineyard. He planted us with the expectation of getting the best fruits. When we abide in Him continually, we will bring forth fruits for His glory - Be rooted and grounded in the Truth revealed to you. Be fruitful!
4. He built a tower in the middle - A tower is built in the vineyard to keep a watch for foxes 🦊, jackals, badgers 🦡 or even thieves. Tower is a symbol of protection. In the olden days fortresses were built with towers around, for the soldiers to keep a watch. Spiritually, these towers signify a life of prayer.
Being Watchful and Praying; Praying in the Spirit - these are some of the weapons the Lord has given us. There will be times when we are unable to pray (no desire to pray/don’t know what to pray for etc) What do you do then? During such times, pray in the Spirit.
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26
5. He made a wine press in it - A wine press is an instrument used for threshing and pressing the ripe grape fruits - for making wine. As followers of Christ, we are called to suffer with Jesus. In this way, not only does our life please God; but we also become a sweet smelling savour for all.
If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him. Sufferings and glory go hand-in-hand. When we suffer with Him we’ll be glorified.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 2 Corinthians 4:16-17
Be blessed 💕
