Spiritual Rest
Physical rest is required, but spiritual rest is always necessary. We may not have physically stressful days daily, but we do have spiritually stressful days every single day.
Sadly, many aren't aware of the daily spiritual attack we are under. Jesus said the evil of each day is enough! (Matthew 6:34).
Never underestimate the spiritual attack through social media and technology. Those who do will get changed by the narrative of what they consume online rather than God's word.
HOW TO RECEIVE SPIRITUAL REST?
All those who come to Jesus and learn humility and lowliness of heart daily will receive rest in their souls (Matthew 11:29).
When we stay in the presence of God, we remain in His rest (Exodus 33:14). A humble believer always stays in the presence of God spiritually.
WHAT'S HAPPENS WHEN YOU ARE IN GOD'S REST?
You cease to do your own will and stay surrendered to God's will to get done in your life (Hebrews 4:10).
WHAT DOES IT MEAN PRACTICALLY TO STAY IN GOD'S REST?
Sharing four practical exercises;
Investing time daily in prayer and praise. Personally, and in fellowship. Humility is enjoying God's presence over anyone else's.
Meditating on the word of God day and night. Humility is about meditating on God's word rather than your own.
Serving the church because they need help.
Giving your best in all you do, at home or work. (Colossians 3:17)
To enter into God's rest in eternity, we need His rest now. Jesus gives us both rest and peace. Look to Jesus, dear believer. Our time on earth is short.
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
