Revive me O Lord..!

O Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk‬ ‭3:2‬ ‭

This verse is very apt for us right now. You know why? 😊 Because we’ve also reached the middle of this year. The year began, full of life and we were all pumped up. Everyday would be lived at its best, was our decision and prayer to God.

The first few weeks were sooper-dooper👌But as days passed by and time flew, the bright enthusiasm we once had, gradually decreased and slowly began waning away. Love, faith, hope also decreased and at times we even questioned God. It’s time for a revival - to come back to where we began with Jesus. He will absolutely help us.

In the ministry of Jesus 4 types of quickening took place and these are very much applicable in our lives as well. We are in the dire need of being revived for the days ahead. Let’s see what these quickening are:

1. Luke 7:2 - Here is a person who was in a ready to die state. He was the centurion’s servant and already at the point of death. The master ran to Jesus for his servant’s healing. Spiritually, some of us may also be in the state of ready to die. When does this happen?

This happens when a person loses the presence of God in him/her. The Symptom - mind wandering away even while seated in His Presence. Anyone in this state needs immediate attention because the Lord has no pleasure in the death of him who dies - Ezekiel 18:32.

Remedy for the ready to die- Ezekiel 18:31 - Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

2. Luke 8:41,49 - Jairus’ only daughter was dying. He did hear Jesus raising up the dead on many occasions and so came running to Him. By the time he had reached, she was already dead. Looking at the church of Sardis, the Spirit says, I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Revelation‬ ‭3:1‬

Spiritually this group refers to those living a hypocritical life. Jesus addresses a group saying I know you not - Mathew 7:23. They did wonders for Jesus but lived in iniquity. They weren’t watchful, meaning not waiting for the Coming of Jesus.

Remedy - be watchful and have a life of prayer and praising. Confess your actual state to God. As soon as Jesus heard about the girl, He went to their house. His quickening power worked mightily and holding her hand He commanded - Rise up.
