Stop recruiting Youth to Teach Sunday School Children

Sunday School teachers should be at least 30 years of age, according to the Word of God. 

Let's look at the IMPORTANCE OF AGE 30 AS PER THE BIBLE for service. 

1. The census of the Kohathites taken at Mount Sinai indicated that priesthood services included those between the ages of 30-50. (Numbers 4:34,35)

2. King David was 30 when he began to reign (2 Samuel 5:4).

3. Jewish law states one needs to be 30 to be a Rabbi. (Code of Jewish Law (O.C. 581:1)

4. Jesus began His ministry at 30 years of age 

5. In the NT, Aquila and Priscilla, an older married couple, corrected Apollos, a young eloquent preacher. Marriage is a life-changing experience and a ministry in itself. 

6. Those desiring the office of a bishop needed to be married. (Based on the above examples, we can say they need to be minimum thirty as well)

WHY CAN'T CHILDREN GET INTO SERIOUS MINISTRY? 

1. They lack understanding because of limited life experiences

2. They lack the life experience of living by faith to have grasped the beauty of God's word - lack spiritual understanding 

3. Children can be easily deceived by the devil because they lack understanding of the word of God. They lack spiritual maturity

4. Children are trapped in self-condemnation and fear. Lack boldness to preach the word. Most have never shared Christ with their friends 

5. They get trapped in a false mindset of showcasing themselves in a way that does not truly reflect genuine behavior. 'Now that I am a teacher, I need to behave in a certain way, not like some immature child'. Forced behavioral changes are a ticking time bomb. 

WHY ARE OLDER CHILDREN BEING RECRUITED AT ALL? 

1. Lazy leadership that lacks the faith to raise new teachers from among the existing older flock

2. Immature leadership that prefers controlling teachers rather than building a strong group of elder-believers

3. Some pastors prefer pleasing believers and appoint their children to massage egos

4. No vision about Sunday school ministry 

5. Not burdened about the body of Christ, only about their positions and material things

When love waxes cold the church begins to decay spiritually. Only those who pursue Jesus wholeheartedly will get caught up when Jesus appears. 

Weep for the children - Jesus Christ.
