Recalibrate Your Feelings
We fail to live Christ because we've turned the word of God into a boring manual.
Our social conditioning to generally avoid books, especially manuals of most tools, makes us neglect the Bible too. Even for exams, most children get serious only as the date gets close.
Reading books can't be given last-minute treatment. It requires time and space, so we think about the words we consume. When we attentively read, we capture much mentally and even emotionally. Words stir and spur us to action often.
When a loving parent commands, an obedient child immediately performs without question. The child often obeys specific instructions without fully understanding why.
The Bible is God's word. When we learn to love God like we love our near and dear ones, the Bible will no longer be a boring manual but a literal lifestyle.
Here's a simple exercise to recalibrate your feelings and expectations.
Praise God whenever you feel burdened. Take five-minute breaks throughout the day to unburden. To recalibrate your feelings and return to the joy of the Lord.
Why? The Bible teaches us to pray without ceasing. Praying involves using words with understanding. The times we cannot find the words to pray, start praising. Praise sincerely, and get filled with the joy of the Lord.
God dwells in our praises. Let His wonderful, joyful, heavenly presence fill us daily.
Maranatha, praise God, and amen.
