Question to learn, not find fault with the person
Do you have a lot of questions? Is there no one who can answer your questions? Fear not. Jesus has all the answers because HE is the answer to all the questions.
While we may desire our questions be answered, it's important we ask in all sincerity.
A lawyer tried to tempt Jesus with a question from the scriptures. He thought he was smarter than Jesus. Funnily, he was asking the WORD, who was God, a question from the word of God.
The lawyer asked a tricky question. Of all God’s word which one is the greatest. Now, everything God speaks is equally important. Nothing is greater or lesser. It’s perfect. The lawyer was tempting Jesus.
Jesus responded with a perfect answer that covered everything. To love God with all we have is the greatest word.
Question to learn, for love
When we are full of God’s love, we will also be able to respond to crooked questioners. Let’s also not be like the lawyer who asks questions only to tempt pastors or elders.
Whether it is speaking the truth or serving others, we need to do all things in godly love. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit so we can daily refresh and renew ourselves in the amazing love of God.
Love never questions to put a person down, but only to lift up, to grow.
When the people heard the gospel as Peter preached in the anointing, their hearts were pricked. They genuinely repented asking what to do.
When Philip found the eunuch reading Isaiah, the eunuch’s question was a genuine one. He deeply desired to know and be guided.
The young rich man who questioned Jesus about eternal life, was arrogant. He was only questioning out of his self righteousness, and not humility.
Stay focused on loving everyone like Jesus loves us. Sometimes our questions can lead the unsaved to finding answers in Christ. We are in the last days. Maranatha, praise God and amen!
