Pressing Toward the Mark

I need to be diligent and labour for godly matters more than anything else in my life. What's the point of knowing God and not living a life that pleases Him? 

If I live a double life, I will have double standards - one for God and another for man - that can never be good for me! 

So what needs to be the approach I need as a believer?

What's my motto or purpose? I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God, in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)

I need to PRESSure towards the prize - Christ Jesus. 

We have a high, heavenly, and holy calling.

Pure lifestyle (sanctified)

I am not of this world. I'm in it. 

This calling is worth more than my life. I now belong to Jesus alone. I will obey Him for the rest of my life, even if I need to lose all on earth for His glory. That's the only approach for believers. Jesus commanded us to labour for eternal life rather than perishables.

HOW TO PRESS FORWARD?

1. Forget the past lifestyle and thinking

2. Look forward to eternity with Jesus

(Philippians 3:13)

Get the mind of Jesus to get Him during His appearance. Jesus is our example. Those following Him are our examples. 

Press forward to learn humility and lowliness of heart (Matthew 11:29).

Press forward to love and forbear others for the glory of God.

Fall deeply in love with Jesus so He can lift you with Him forever.
