Only When The Father Says
Man loves to prove himself to others with his knowledge. It is the nature of the sinful flesh to want to convince others about any given topic. Sadly, many Christians waste their time and strength trying to convince others about the proof of God with their intellect.
Two verses reveal that unless God does not open their eyes no one will be saved.
God saves who He wants to save (Romans 9:15,16).
Without the Father drawing people to Jesus, no one can be saved (John 6:44,65).
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR BELIEVERS?
We who have received mercy can only pray to God to show mercy on the unsaved. God hears the prayers of His children. As a child of God, PRAY and FOLLOW JESUS to shine the light of Christ rather than trying to use human reasoning to convince others.
Are you grateful and burdened to pray for others' salvation?
When Jesus stood before the people, He asked them to believe Him because He does the Father's work (John 10:37). The miracles and evidence in His life are a testament to God working in Him. Similarly, as followers of Jesus, when we walk by faith, God will prove His faith in us through works done by the Holy Spirit in our lives - gifts and fruit of the Holy Spirit, and other good works.
So, how to surrender to the Holy Spirit?
Pray fervently, by faith, for people in your life (1 Timothy 2:1)
Follow the example revealed by Jesus (1 Peter 2:21)
Let your faith with works please God and draw people to seek Him (James 2:14-25)
Maranatha, Praise God, and Amen.
